ABOUT
The name Seishikan means the place to come to develop the will to be honest. Sei means truth, shi means will and kan means house or school.
Seishikan is a registered organisation with the AKF (Australian Karate Federation) and JKF (Japanese Karate Federation).
Adelaide Seishikan Karate Club is for men, women and children 8 years and older. Junior and senior advanced students will have access to state and national competitions. Gradings are internationally recognised. Black belt students are registered in Japan and receive the highest quality black belt with their Japanese name on it and a certificate, both from Japan.
The instructors at Adelaide Seishikan Karate Club teach authentic Japanese Goju Ryu karate. Adelaide Seishikan Karate Club is a not for profit organisation. The instructors teach karate because they love it and they want to share their knowledge and help other people learn karate. An added bonus is that students learn some Japanese words and phrases, such as counting to 10 as part of their training. Students at Adelaide Seishikan Karate Club learn karate is not just about receiving the next belt, it's about learning how to do the actions such as katas, blocks, kicks, improving skills, practising and correcting faults.
Students should never think of themselves as a master, they can always keep learning (regardless of their belt colour). Karate is a life long learning process.

“Do not strike others, and do not allow others to strike you. The goal is peace without incident.”
– Chojun Miyagi
